Easy to Challenging Daily Routes, Plenty of Rest Stops, Live Music & Food Trucks Nightly

Ride Info

The 25th annual BRAG Spring Tune-Up Ride will be April 26-28, 2019. Last year we had about 1,000 registered riders join us for the weekend!  Join us in 2019 and see what makes the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia so special.

For Spring TuneUp, riders travel at their own pace along a set route which includes rest stops with refreshments. You may choose to ride as many or as few miles as you like ranging from 20 - 100 miles. The start/finish will be at the same location all weekend. At the end of each day's ride, we camp at Sunflower Farm in Rutledge, Georgia where there will be food & drinks, hot showers, live music, and games. Some riders will choose to stay at local hotels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we stay? On Spring TuneUp most participants camp on site at the sunflower farm. We provide you with all the amenities you need such as shower, restrooms, sinks, mirros, etc. Some people bring RV's to sleep in (please note there are no hookups or loud generators after 10pm). Other participants stay in hotels that are nearby (participants book independently).

Where should I bring? We have prepared a packing list for you prepared by veteran BRAG riders. Please note this list is most pertinent to Big Brag but will give you a general idea of what to pack.

What Do The Riding Fees Cover? Registration entitles you to maps, entrance to campsites (tent camping), nightly entertainment/live bands, hot showers, extra porta-potties at overnight sites, rest stops every 15 - 20 miles (with hydration and nutrition), sag wagon support, a registration packet, parking, discounts at some local retailers, well marked routes, and lots more.

How often do we move? At Spring TuneUp we do not move. Each day is a loop ride starting and ending in the same spot, the Sunflower Farm.

Do I need a road bike?  Absolutely not! While a road bike certainly makes things a little easier, people have completed ride on every type of bike you could think of, from mountain bikes, to recumbents,  to unicycles.

What if I don't know anyone? The best thing about BRAG is the community of riders. Many come alone and leave with riding buddies for life. You will never ride alone on BRAG. There will always be someone riding at or near your pace. If you are the least bit outgoing, you will meet lots of new friends on BRAG - on the road, at the rest stops and in the shower line, listening to bands, etc.

If I'm not in the best shape, can I participate? If you are not in shape when you get to BRAG, you will be when you leave. However at Spring TuneUp you can choose your route, and pedal as few as 10 miles. If choosing the short route, you can also take your time to complete the miles, there is no rush when traveling the shorter distances. There are also SAG wagons that can assist if you have serious trouble.

More questions? Drop us a line on our contact form or ask the BRAG community on our facebook page.
